HIV/AIDS Risk Reduction Program

The WCA Risk Reduction Program is designed to increase HIV/AIDS awareness for adolescents in selected schools in north central Philadelphia.  The program works with middle and high school students through school-based workshops for direct risk reduction instructions, and activities to enhance self-confidence, and self-esteem.

Within the Benjamin Franklin, Strawberry Mansion and William Penn public school clusters, a series of workshops are held to disseminate information on the following topics:

  • What is HIV/AIDS
  • HIV/AIDS Prevention Methods
  • Peer Pressure
  • How to become empowered

The goal of the HIV/AIDS Risk Reduction Program is to provide comprehensive risk reduction services to adolescents in order to prevent them from contracting HIV/AIDS or other sexually transmitted diseases.
